There is a reason why the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn is located at north and south of the equator respectively. They are found at 23.5 degrees N and S of the equator. Due to the earth’s revolution around the sun, the earth’s axis is tilted at 23.5 degrees.
We all know that Tropic of Capricorn is found at the South of the equator with 23.5 degrees ‘’S’’. It passes through various countries such as southern Brazil, Australia, Chile and Namibia. The only country that passes through the equator and Tropic is Brazil.

The three imaginary lines signify the relationship between Earth and the sun. The tropic of cancer and tropic of Capricorn are two imaginary lines where the sun appears above our head. This happens on June 21 and December 21 respectively.
The sun is directly above our head at Tropic of Cancer on June 21. It occurs on December 21 at Tropic of Capricorn when the sun is directly above our head.
